WOW, what a day of provision! I got a call from Jennifer at Acess to Independence today ( we are long-time customers). She had a question concerning donating some used walkers to a good place. I told her where, and then I told her about Joao and our needs for him. That led me to take him to their showroom. I did not know they planned to donate the last things we needed to help him with his independence and make life easier for the family!
They stopped working and customized him a wheelchair (cut a board for his legs and all.) that is more portable and requires HIM to do the rolling. It was his first time rolling himself around manually. He was strong enough 🙂 This will build upper body strength really fast, plus work him! Then they provided a transfer lift! And showed us how to use it. What a game-changer that will be. In addition, they provided a toilet solution to make getting him to the bathroom possible. They donated it ALL and delivered it immediately! They even solved some independence issues by providing some adaptive combs and back scratchers. I cried several times…and I was not the only one shedding some tears. There is something about watching God provide through human kindness that is breathtaking. We really needed this equipment. We had a meeting about it in church yesterday, and then today, I got an unrelated call that ended up like this. A miracle!! And no insurance or money was required! I am in awe! It certainly was very surprising! We are thankful Lord!
The family is in need of food cards and a few suppies. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3NCOMA8JGLR1G?ref_=wl_share
